Karla Landis joined The Sports Institute in 2019 as Head of Operations. Karla believes in building a healthier, more active community through new program development and innovations that are grounded in research. Prior to joining The Institute, Karla served as the deputy director of the George Pocock Rowing Foundation, a Seattle-based nonprofit dedicated to creating rowing opportunities for youth in the Pacific Northwest. During her 10 years at the GPRF, Karla led the launch and growth of Row to the Future, the country’s largest youth rowing outreach initiative in the country, and oversaw fundraising and communications. Karla holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and a M.S. in Kinesiology from Western Washington University, where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame (2017) for her accomplishments in rowing. Karla currently serves on the advisory board for Project Play: King County.
